WhatsApp has just submitted a new update through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 23.17.1.77. The version marked within WhatsApp Settings is 2.23.17.77 and the TestFlight build is 23.17.1 (509131248).
What’s new in this update? WhatsApp is working on a new interface for the app with new colors, new buttons, and the ability to filter chats. This interface will be available in a future update!

NEW INTERFACE
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.17.1.70 update, we posted information regarding a new interface for the app settings. In addition, we announced new action sheets with the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.13.0.71 update. It is now evident that WhatsApp is in the process of enhancing the interface of the app, and the numerous updates confirm this theory. A few days ago, we shared a secret message on X by anticipating a redesigned interface for the app. Thanks to the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.17.1.77 update, which was released on the TestFlight app last week, we discovered that WhatsApp has official plans to enhance the interface of the app by bringing important redesigns!
We are very happy to announce that WhatsApp is finally working on improving the interface of the app by bringing a redesign. The redesign includes revamped buttons for the navigation bar, that will make the interface more modern. In addition, WhatsApp also intends to add a filter row that will let users sort their chats using two filters: personal conversations and business chats. It’s important to note that we also discovered the same feature in development for the Android app with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.14.17 update.
As you can see in the attached screenshot, the app will finally have green as its primary color. However, some elements of the interface still appear in blue. We don’t need to be concerned about it as WhatsApp could change their color in the upcoming updates due to the ongoing development of this redesign since they have plans to completely improve the interface of the app. Lastly, the upcoming changes will see the tab bar taking on a black tint color as the app title and other buttons.
This is a significant step forward in introducing improvements to the interface of the iOS app. Over the years, many users have asked for a refresh of the interface because no improvements have been implemented for a long time. As a result, the app might have appeared rather outdated and not keeping up with the times. Finally, WhatsApp has listened to user feedback and will keep enhancing the app interface in the upcoming weeks before the official release.
