ACTION SHEETS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.13.0.70 update, we posted information regarding a new interface for several sections of the app. In particular, WhatsApp was releasing a new style for several sections of the app, with rounded corners and small margins around the edges, a translucent effect for the tab bar and the navigation bar, and some action menus have been converted into context menus. However, it seems WhatsApp still has some more updates to further improve certain elements of the app interface as there is something new available to some beta testers today. Specifically, thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.13.0.71 update available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out a new interface for action sheets:
As you can see in this screenshot, these action sheets appear significantly different when compared to the ones in the previous versions of the application, as they have been redesigned. Previously, WhatsApp used the action sheets provided by Apple’s APIs to prompt user interaction for certain events. After installing the latest update of the app, some beta testers may experiment with this new interface for certain action sheets, aimed at enhancing the user experience. The best way to check if this new interface is available for your WhatsApp account is to try deleting a message or muting a conversation. If the new action sheet appears in either of these situations, it means that your WhatsApp account is compatible with this feature, and all action sheets will always appear completely refreshed.
Note that the new interface is not limited to the action sheets presented when deleting messages. In fact, WhatsApp is also introducing new action sheets when muting, deleting, clearing, or exporting a conversation. In addition, a redesigned action sheet is available when toggling the ability to save media to the photos app or viewing the chat shortcuts.
The new interface for action sheets is available to some beta testers that install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
