PRIVACY SECTION

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.22.5 update, we shared the details about some changes for our privacy settings. In fact, WhatsApp has moved privacy settings from the “Account” section to the root on the Android beta app. We already mentioned in the Android changelog that the feature was rolling out to certain beta testers on WhatsApp beta for iOS and we can now confirm that it is now available to more iOS beta users after installing one of the mentioned compatible updates from TestFlight: 22.21.0.71 and 22.21.0.72 beta builds!

As you can see in this screenshot, you can easily reach the privacy section from the main WhatsApp Settings screen. Why is WhatsApp moving this section to the root? Probably, they want to give more priority to privacy features that are really important such as the ability to manage who can see our last seen, profile photo, and who can add us to groups. In addition, some users that install the latest WhatsApp Business beta update from TestFlight may be able to see the same changes to the privacy section.
The changes have been released to some beta testers that install one of the compatible builds and there will be more activations over the coming days.
