WhatsApp has recently submitted a new update through the TestFlight Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.20.20.17, the update for the new year!
I always recommend to back up your chat history before updating to the new beta: if there is something wrong with the update, your messages are safe on iCloud and you can downgrade to the precedent version from TestFlight or App Store.
Let’s find out together what is new ..
- All features and changes listed in this article will be available in the next version on the App Store, the 2.20.20 official update (except for the Dark Theme, that’s under development). Some of these changes might be already implemented for the next WhatsApp Business beta version.

WhatsApp has implemented a Dark Splash Screen in the 2.20.20.17 beta update, that’s already enabled by default:

Some iOS 13 features might be available again for some users.
