DOCUMENT BANNER

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.3.13 update, we announced a new feature was under development: a document banner. Thanks to the in-app document banner, WhatsApp would have notified that it was possible to share documents and files up to 2GB in size, previously released to all users in May 2022. After a small test, WhatsApp is now releasing the such banner to more beta testers that install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Play Store:

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp has added a new in-app banner within the document explorer that definitely highlights a useful feature. In fact, the new in-app banner will inform users that it is possible to share documents and files up to 2GB in size. In our opinion, it’s a great way to inform those people who may still not be familiar with this feature and it will likely encourage more users to try it out, which finally makes WhatsApp a viable alternative for sending large files. Note that the banner may have been released to some lucky beta testers in the past, but it is definitely rolling out to more people today.

The new in-app document banner is available for some beta testers after installing the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android on the Play Store. In case the feature is not enabled for your WhatsApp account, please note that it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
