PINNED MESSAGES

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.13.11 update, we posted information regarding a new feature in development: pinned messages. With this feature, users would be able to highlight a message by pinning it to the top of their chat conversations, making it easier for other people to access to important or frequently referenced messages. In addition, we shared a screenshot of the redesigned chat attachment sheet in the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.6.17 update. Today, thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.21.4 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out these features to a limited group of beta testers!

As you can see in this screenshot, a new pin action may be visible within the message options after installing the latest update of the app. This option allows users to pin a message to the top of the conversation, making it easier for users to highlight and access important or frequently referenced messages quickly. Additionally, some beta testers may experiment with a redesigned chat attachment menu that features a new modern style. It’s important to note that since these features are currently available to a limited group of beta testers, it may take a while before they become available to a wider audience.

With the ability to pin a message, users gain precise control over how long a message remains prominently displayed in their chats as it’s possible to choose three different durations: 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days. However, it’s also possible to dismiss the current pinned message at any time, even before the chosen duration expires. It’s worth noting that pinned messages are also available in individual conversations, making it easier to highlight specific content even within private chats. In our opinion, WhatsApp further highlights their commitment to providing people with a modern and user-friendly interface thanks to the new redesigned chat attachment menu. The updated menu still features the process of sharing various types of content, but it is now definitely clearer and more intuitive with the latest tweaks.

The pinned messages feature and the redesigned chat share sheet are available to a limited group of beta testers who install the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, and they are rolling out to more people over the coming weeks.
