WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.23.18.4.

RESTORE CHATS
As you may have noticed from our previous articles, WhatsApp keeps introducing new interfaces for various sections and elements of the app in order to enhance the user experience and provide a more visually updated app that adheres to the guidelines of Material Design 3. The latest updates regarding the interface were offered by the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.17.16 update with the new calling view, and the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.16.14 update, which brings redesigned notifications. However, thanks to the recent updates of WhatsApp beta for Android, WhatsApp also released a new interface for another section of the app:
As you can see in the attached screenshot, WhatsApp introduced a new interface for the restore chats screen. With these changes, WhatsApp aims to make this screen much more intuitive than in the past, presenting users with the option to choose how they wish to restore their chat history, as well as provide a redesigned interface. In fact, WhatsApp provides users with an option to transfer the chat history from the old phone without using Google Drive, a feature released with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.9.19 update.
It’s important to note that this update also brings an issue with the widget as it’s unable to load and show the recent messages. As happened with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.17.13 update, we need to wait for a new bug-fix update to get a final solution for this issue. Stay tuned with us to discover when it’s available.
