MULTI-ACCOUNT

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.17.8 update, we announced that a new feature was available to some beta testers: multi-account. With this new feature, WhatsApp finally allows users to add another account to the same device, without using parallel or cloned apps. Instead, with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.18.7 update, we shared the details regarding a new interface for the app settings for some beta testers, along with a profile tab. Finally, thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.18.21 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, WhatsApp is widely releasing these two features to more beta testers starting today!

This screenshot reveals two new features available to a broader number of users. The first one is about the multi-account feature, which finally allows users to add an additional account on the same device directly right within WhatsApp Settings. The second feature involves a redesigned interface for settings, which provides users with a more modern experience when navigating through the various options of the app. It’s important to note that the update also includes a redesigned profile tab right within the chat list, making it easier for users to open the settings of the app.

This new feature allows users to manage their conversations from multiple accounts with a single app. In addition, it keeps conversations and notifications separate and enables users to switch between accounts on the same device without the need for different devices or parallel apps. In our opinion, this finally simplifies the process of using multiple accounts on one device, eliminating the need to set up a separate WhatsApp account, even from a different device. It’s worth noting that users may be able to add only one additional account to their app. However, it’s possible that WhatsApp could increase this limit in a future update of the app.

The multi-account feature, along with a new interface for the app settings, is available to more beta testers that install the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android starting today, and it’s rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
