POLLS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.15.13 update, we announced that WhatsApp was widely rolling out a feature that allows community members to react to messages shared within community announcement group. This feature was previously released to a limited group of beta testers with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.14.19 update along with a phone number privacy option. However, community announcement groups still lack some features, such as the ability to share polls. Finally, after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.17.22 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, WhatsApp is rolling out this feature to some beta testers!

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp finally introduced the entry point within the chat share sheet to create a poll for community announcement groups. If you want to find out if this feature is already enabled for your account, you should simply open the community announcement group of which you are an administrator and check if the polls icon is available. Note that this feature might only be visible in those community announcement groups with a certain size. In fact, it may only work with community announcement groups with less than 1024 participants. For this reason, it’s worth noting to try it in different community announcement groups.
With the ability to create polls in the community announcement group, WhatsApp provides community admins with an additional tool to interact with community members. Through polls, community admins can ask questions and involve the community in certain decisions. It’s very important to highlight that this feature is compatible with the phone number privacy option. This means that voting in a poll will never reveal your phone number as it is hidden by default.
The ability to share polls within community announcement groups is available to some beta testers that install the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for Android, and it’s rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
