ANIMATED AVATAR PACK
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.15.6 update, we announced a new feature in development: an animated avatar pack. With this feature, WhatsApp was going to provide users with an animated version of their current avatar pack. Even though it’s been less than a month since we shared our first article about this feature, we now have news to share about animated avatars. Specifically, thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.16.12 update from the Google Play Store, some beta testers may finally experiment with animated avatars!

As you can see in this video, an enhanced version of the avatar pack that introduces animated avatars is finally available. As we said in our previous article when the feature was in development, this is definitely a significant improvement that brings a dynamic element to avatars, especially for those users that regularly use this feature, since it introduces a better expressive communication experience.
If you want to check if this feature is already enabled for your WhatsApp account, simply open the avatar tab in a conversation. If there is an animation for some avatars, it means you can now share animated avatars. Keep in mind that the recipient doesn’t need to have the feature enabled to see the animated avatars they receive in a conversation. This means that you can share your animated avatars with non-beta testers as well.
Animated avatars are available to some beta testers that install the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, and they are rolling out to even more people over the coming weeks.
