While WhatsApp is working on some major features for the next updates, such as the ability to edit messages and the upcoming online privacy setting, the team is also developing some minor tweaks for already existing features. In fact, thanks to the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.19.6 update, we discovered that WhatsApp is introducing a shortcut to archive settings by adding a new header in your archive:
As you can see in this screenshot, a new header will show up within your archived chats: it says that your archived chats stay in your archive even when there are new incoming messages but the user can change this behavior by tapping the header. In this case, WhatsApp will automatically redirect you to the archive settings where you can toggle the archive mode (this is already available since last year). If you decide to disable the new archive, the archive row will be moved to the bottom of your chat list and a different text will show up within the archive header. Thanks to the new archive header, you also know the current configuration of your archive.
The new header for the list of your archived chats is released to some beta testers after installing the latest beta from Google Play Store (but some lucky beta testers may also receive it by installing the previous update), and more activations are planned over the coming days.
