We published some details about the ability to silently exit groups on WhatsApp Desktop beta the last week. This feature is under development but when it will be rolled out to beta testers in the future, they can finally leave groups without notifying other group participants. This is exactly what WhatsApp is also developing in the new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.12.8 update:
At the moment, when people want to exit a group, a system message is automatically added to the group chat so other group participants always know who left the group. What will happen in the future? As you can see in this screenshot, when someone wants to exit a group, other people won’t be notified except group admins. Since group admins should always moderate their groups, we believe it is a good choice.
Unfortunately, this feature is under development so we do not know when it will be released to beta users but there will be another article on this website when the feature is rolled out.
