WhatsApp has just submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 18.104.22.168.

In the WhatsApp beta for Android 22.214.171.124 beta article, we talked about a new feature under development: end-to-end encrypted backups.
End-To-End Encrypted Backups are very safe because they are protected by a private password that prevents unauthorized access to them while on Google Drive.
The feature is still not available, because WhatsApp is working on it in order to prevent any bug when it will be released, but today they have introduced several UI changes:
As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp will add a status indicating if the backup is encrypted using the end-to-end encryption.
The feature is under development and it will be available in a future update. Stay tuned to discover new features and announcements!
