WhatsApp beta for Android 2.20.71: what’s new?

WhatsApp has recently submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.20.71.
What’s new in this update? Discover all details below!


  • The new UI for Group QR Code feature is not available yet.
  • This feature is under development: it means that WhatsApp is working on this feature and there isn’t any release date available.
  • If you don’t see the update on the Play Store, please be patient until Google will roll out for you (probably according to WhatsApp preferences).

WhatsApp is working to make the Share Group Invite feature better.
In this beta we found hidden references about a new hidden redesign in the app, for the Share Group Invite Link feature.
You can already Print Your QR Code, to export the QR Code, but WhatsApp is working now to improve the UI to see it directly in the app.
In the first screenshot we can see a new option called QR Code:

After tapping QR Code, WhatsApp will present the new redesigned section that shows the QR Code of the group:

You will be able to easily revoke the QR Code using this option:


If you decide to export the QR Code, this will be the UI:

This feature is under development and it will be available in future.
