WhatsApp has just submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.20.194.11.
What’s new in this update? Discover all details below!
- The Camera shortcut is actually available in this update.
- If you don’t see the update on the Play Store, please be patient until Google will roll out for you (probably according to WhatsApp preferences).
In the recent updates we saw the introduction of the Messenger Rooms shortcuts.
Recently I’ve also published a tweet to discover the general opinion for this feature:
Is the "Rooms" shortcut (Facebook Messenger) useful in WhatsApp? In particular the one in the chat share sheet.

Today, with the 2.20.194.11 beta update, WhatsApp is reintroducing the old Camera shortcut!
A lot of people complain about the Messenger Room Shortcut: they though it was a WhatsApp feature and they didn’t understand why the camera icon was gone.
Note that the camera icon is already enabled by default.
I’ve published some tweets about a new bug for read receipts, introduced with the 2.20.194.10:
Some users might experience an issue where it's not possible to see who has read/received your messages in groups, on the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.20.194.10.
Basically the activity "Message Info" might be empty for some users.— WABetaInfo (@WABetaInfo) June 24, 2020
The issue previously mentioned happens in broadcast lists and status updates as well, for some users on 2.20.194.10. https://t.co/Q9i0PAbUkn

Unfortunately this was not fixed with the 2.20.194.11. We will keep you updated when a new fix is out with a new update.
