WhatsApp beta for Android 2.18.194: what’s new?

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

WhatsApp has submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.18.194.
But what features has WhatsApp added in this update?
Let’s find out together the news ..

WhatsApp added a new feature called Media Visibility in WhatsApp Settings, that allows to hide shared media in your Gallery.
The feature was available in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.18.159 but it has been removed in a recent update..
Today, thanks to the 2.18.194 beta, we discover that WhatsApp has removed the feature in order to add a very important improvement.
WhatsApp has improved the Media Visibility feature, allowing the user to enable/disable this option per chats and groups!

For example, trying to open Contact Info, you can see a new option called Media Visibility:

If you select it, you can customize its behavior:

NOTE: The feature will just work for newly downloaded media!

This is a very good step. WhatsApp should add many other options in Contact Info (instead using generic Settings), for example adding the possibility to use different wallpapers for chats or disabling read receipts/last seen in specific chats.
We hope to find something similar in next beta releases!
