WhatsApp submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program: the version is 2.17.202.
But what features WhatsApp added in this update?
Let’s start with the only visible feature.
RECENT PHOTOS
It’s now possible to see your recent photos if you open the Camera. Simply swipe up to see them.
This feature is very similar to the Stripe one on iOS, only that it vertically works.
Now, let’s move on to hidden features.
LIVE LOCATION
A new alert has been added for the live location feature.
This alert informs the user about how the live location works and what permissions are necessary.
EMOJIS SEARCH
This is a new hidden feature by which you will be able to search emojis.
You will find a new search button in your emojis keyboard, that will allow you to search the emoji that respects your criteria.
Note that this feature is disabled by default (learn here what is a hidden feature and how to enable it) and it will be enabled for all WhatsApp users in next stable updates when WhatsApp developers will be sure that the feature is finally bug free and it is ready to be used.
