POLLS, DOCUMENTS, CAPTIONS

WhatsApp just announced in a new blog post some improvements regarding polls, documents, and the ability to forward media with a caption. We already announced these features on our website in the past and, thanks to the new official blog post, we can finally confirm that they are available to everyone after installing the most recent update of the app from the App Store or the Google Play Store:

The latest updates of the app allow poll creators to enable a single-vote option, making it easier to reach a definitive answer. Users can now turn off the “allow multiple answers” toggle while creating a poll. There is also an improvement regarding the feature to search for polls thanks to the ability to filter messages by polls, similar to how they can search for photos, videos, or links: users can select the option “Polls” while searching for messages to see a list of all results. In addition, the latest updates of the app ensure that poll creators are always up to date with responses by notifying them when people vote on their polls.

WhatsApp has also added a new feature that allows users to forward media with a caption: while sharing photos, videos, and GIFs, on WhatsApp, users can now choose to keep or delete when forwarding media between chats. Note that it is also possible to add a message after forwarding media to include more context.
WhatsApp also announced in the blog post that the ability to share documents with captions is available: this feature allows users to add captions when sharing documents making it easier for them to find documents later.

These features are available to all users that install the latest updates of WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business from the App Store and the Google Play Store, and they have started rolling out to users globally over the coming weeks.
