Last year, we published an article in order to introduce the WhatsApp business directory, a new convenient feature that lets users find businesses by looking for a certain category right within WhatsApp. After sending a request to join the WhatsApp business directory, those businesses will be added to the directory, and customers can finally search for restaurants, shops, and businesses by opening the directory.
Yesterday, Will Cathcart, head of WhatsApp, announced on Twitter the ability to browse businesses by using the WhatsApp business directory in some more countries:

As you can see in this image from the latest blog post on the official WhatsApp website, you can discover if the feature is available for your WhatsApp account by opening the contacts list where you may find the “Discover Businesses” shortcut, but note that this is only available in Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Mexico, and the UK. In addition, only certain businesses can apply to the WhatsApp business directory but it is also possible to search for small and medium businesses in Brazil, where the feature has already been released in the past.

The WhatsApp business directory is available in select countries to users that install the most recent versions of WhatsApp for Android and iOS. Probably, WhatsApp also plans to release the business directory to more countries in the future: as always, an additional article will be published on this website when we have news.
