Despite you’re not noticing a lot of new features, WhatsApp is always working to bring new functionalities to their app. Let’s discover what are the recent changes about calls!
|Name of the feature?||Joinable Calls – New UI|
|Availability?||WhatsApp beta for iOS 184.108.40.206 is marked as compatible version, but it’s coming on WhatsApp beta for Android too.|
|I have installed the 220.127.116.11 beta update, but I don’t see joinable calls and the new UI. Why?||WhatsApp is rolling out these features today, be patient to see them enabled for your WhatsApp account.|
|Previous news?||WhatsApp is working on an in-app tool to review bans!|
WhatsApp has released the 18.104.22.168 beta update on TestFlight, and there are some important improvements for voice and video calls today!
The first one is a new user interface when you call WhatsApp users (it’s very similar to the interface you see on Facetime), that allows you to quickly find the option you’re looking for, and there is a Ring button too:
The second improvement, probably the most important one, is about the possibility to join group calls. People can join calls even when they are already started.
When can you join group calls? If you temporarily ignore to participate in a group call, and you open WhatsApp again after some time, if the group call is still ongoing, WhatsApp might present you an alert if you want to quickly join the call, without asking other participants to add you again. When there is a call you can join, you can find a “Tap to join” banner in the Calls tab and a “Join call” button in the group chat where the call is started.
These improvements are available on WhatsApp beta for iOS, but WhatsApp WhatsApp is going to roll out these features on WhatsApp beta for Android very soon.
Stay tuned to discover other improvements on WhatsApp for Android and iOS!
