WhatsApp has submitted a new update through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 22.9.0.70. The version marked within WhatsApp Settings is 2.22.9.70.

Some weeks ago, WhatsApp has released the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.9 update, which brings advanced settings to manage last seen, about, profile photo to more Android beta testers. Today, WhatsApp is rolling out the same feature to some beta users that install the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.9.0.70 update from TestFlight!
If you open WhatsApp Settings > Account > Privacy > Last Seen / Profile Photo / About, you might find a new option called “My Contacts Except…”: this option lets you exclude some people from seeing your information on WhatsApp. For example, you do not need to set your last seen to “Nobody” if you have disabled it due to certain contacts: you can exclude them from seeing your last seen now. As we explained in the changelog about the Android update, when you select contacts in Last Seen > My Contacts Except, you won’t be able to see their last seen, but this rule does not apply to your about and profile photo.
This feature has been rolled out to some beta testers today, and it may be available to more users after 24 hours.
