CHANNEL ANALYTICS FEATURE

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.12.18 update, we announced that WhatsApp was working on a new channel analytics feature. This feature is designed to provide channel owners with detailed insights into their audience and content performance through specific metrics. Although this feature is still in development, it seems that WhatsApp is now working on further refining this feature by adding some details about available metrics, as discovered in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.13.10 update from the Google Play Store.

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is still working on a feature to provide insights for channels, scheduled for release in a future update of the app. This update includes useful explanations about available metrics, such as the number of account reached and the net follows. These metrics will be available only to channel admins. This means that users who follow the channel won't have access to these detailed analytics as it's private information. Instead, channel admins will be able to use this information to gain insights into their channel's performance and audience engagement, helping them to optimize content and strategies effectively.

Account reached refers to the number of unique accounts that have viewed any of the channel updates at least once. It's important to clarify that this metric excludes multiple views from the same accounts. In addition, the new follows indicates the net change in followers, calculated by subtracting the number of accounts that unfollowed the channel or deleted their WhatsApp account within the last 30 days from those who followed it. WhatsApp will also provide data on the top regions with the highest concentration of reached accounts. It's worth noting that these metrics are estimated due to potential variations in data reporting across different regions, which may slightly affect the accuracy of these insights. These metrics were also announced in our article about a recent update of WhatsApp Web.

A new channel analytics feature is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We will share another article once we have new information about this feature.
