BLOCK SHORTCUT

WhatsApp is working on new minor features to enhance the user experience of its application: it’s the case of a new feature that introduces a shortcut to quickly block contacts. In particular, thanks to the recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.2.4 update from the Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a shortcut that will let users block a contact right within the chat list without the need to open the conversation, for a future update:

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp plans to add a new shortcut right within the chat option in the chat list to quickly block a contact, in a future update of the app. Even if it’s a minor feature, we believe it let us save time without opening the conversation: thanks to this new feature, blocking unwanted contacts will be easier and faster than before.

We think this feature will be very helpful especially if you get many messages from people you don’t know or don’t want to talk to, so you can quickly block them by opening the chat options. At the moment, a feature that lets quickly block multiple contacts at once from the chat list is not planned.

The block shortcut will be added within the chat option in the chat list to a future update of the app. As always, an additional article will be available on this website when we have further information to share with you.
