LOADING YOUR CHATS

In November, WhatsApp released the companion mode for some Android beta testers. Thanks to this feature, it is finally possible to link an additional mobile device (and tablets) to an existing WhatsApp account.
WhatsApp keeps working on improving the companion mode as it is a beta feature so it needs a lot of improvements before a public and stable launch, and we have new improvements today. After releasing the new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.2.3 update from the Play Store, we noticed a different screen when linking a companion device:

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp revamped the screen that shows up when scanning a QR code. In the previous update, you can see there was an alert that invited the user to wait until the end of the process. In the new update, there is a redesigned section that lets us understand when the process is done. As probably you noticed, the new tweaked section is very similar to the one we see when we link our WhatsApp account to WhatsApp Desktop, and makes it easier for us to follow the progress.

The new interface when linking a companion device is available to some beta testers that install the latest beta from the Play Store it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
