COMMUNITY INFO

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.17.2 update, we announced that WhatsApp was bringing a community example feature to some beta testers. With this feature, WhatsApp aims to encourage users to explore communities, which bring together people with similar interests. It seems that WhatsApp is further working on improving communities so they are bringing a new design for the community info screen. The changes have been spotted with the recent updates, but the new screen is widely available after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.17.6 update from the Google Play Store:

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp introduces a new community info screen when opening a community from the communities tab. The new section features two tabs to quickly allow users to view the community info and the announcements info. In addition, some users may be able to get a “Manage members” option to quickly get a list of all community members in order to promote, demote, or remove them from the community.

In our opinion, while these changes might not be very significant, they collectively contribute to enhancing the application. Introducing a new screen for viewing community information, WhatsApp aims to provide users with an additional tool of quickly accessing details, making the community interface clearer for new people that want to explore WhatsApp communities.

The new community info screen is available to some beta testers that install the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for Android, and it’s rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
