MULTI-ACCOUNT

WhatsApp is continuing to work on introducing new features in future updates of the application. After releasing the companion mode, which provides users with the ability to use an existing account on different devices, WhatsApp is now developing a feature that allows accessing multiple WhatsApp accounts from the same device. The feature was spotted through the WhatsApp Business beta for Android 2.23.13.5 update, which is available on the Google Play Store. It’s also worth noting that we have evidence suggesting its compatibility with WhatsApp Messenger. Since this feature is in development, it will be available in the future:

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is really working on a multi-account feature by implementing a menu that will allow users to select which account they want to log into. When you set up an additional account for the first time, it will be stored on your device until you decide to log out of the account, so you can always switch to it when you want.

With the integration of the multi-account feature, users will have the ability to manage their personal conversations, work-related discussions, and other social interactions within a single app. This separation ensures that users can maintain privacy, efficiently manage notifications, and switch between different accounts without the need of using parallel apps. In our opinion, it will also simplify the management of multiple accounts across different devices. Instead of having to install and configure WhatsApp separately on each device, users can access and switch between their various accounts using a single app on their main device.

Note that, although we discovered this feature during the development of the business app, there are no indications that suggest it is an exclusive tool for businesses. For this reason, we can finally affirm that it will be available for everyone in the future.

The multi-account feature is under development and it will be released to beta testers in a future update of the app. As always, we will post an additional article when we have further information to share with you.
