WhatsApp has recently submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.20.94.
What’s new in these updates? Discover all details below!
- The Search Messages On The Web feature is not available yet.
- This feature is under development: it means that WhatsApp is working on this feature and there isn’t any release date available.
- If you don’t see the update on the Play Store, please be patient until Google will roll out for you (probably according to WhatsApp preferences).
We talked about a feature under development that allowed to search images on the web (in order to see if an image was fake) in the 2.19.73 beta update one year ago (yes, I’ve announced that WhatsApp was working on the feature one year ago and it’s still not available yet).
Today a new beta was released and it includes another new similar feature, but for text messages!
This feature is not available but WhatsApp is already working to introduce some options to launch the feature for Frequently Forwarded Messages: the button Search will present an alert:
After tapping the icon, WhatsApp will ask if you want to upload the message on Google, so you can see if it contains fake news.
This feature is under development and it will be available in future (and we hope we won’t have to wait long for this).
