Latest WhatsApp Beta News and Feature Updates

As previously announced, WhatsApp users will be able to create a username for their profile, enhancing privacy as others can connect without the need to disclose phone numbers. This feature is currently in development and it will be available in a future update of the web client.

WhatsApp is actively working on introducing a new background color for its web client's dark theme along with a new tweaked sidebar, designed to enhance aesthetics and reduce eye strain in low-light environments. The new interface is currently in development and it will be available in a future update.

The ability to share status updates finally extends to WhatsApp Web, allowing users to share photos, videos, and text directly to Status from the web client. This integration is currently available to some beta testers who previously joined the official beta program of the web client.
