WHATSAPP NEWS OF THE WEEK
- A few months ago, WhatsApp increased the number of people that could join groups from 256 to 512. This week, WhatsApp is increasing this number again so groups support up to 1024 participants. This is now available to some lucky users even on the stable release of the app and it will probably reach more people over the coming weeks.
- WhatsApp is releasing an optional subscription plan to certain businesses: WhatsApp Premium. Thanks to WhatsApp Premium, businesses can take advantage of a custom business link and the ability to add up to 10 linked devices.
- WhatsApp finally released an improved version of view once messages to some beta testers that install the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.22.3 update: some users cannot take screenshots or screen recordings to view once images and videos.
- The same improvement for view once images and videos has also been released to some users that install the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.21.0.71 update from TestFlight. This is surely the best news of the week:
- After installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.22.5 update, some users noticed that the privacy section has been moved to the root.
- The same change about the privacy section is also available to some users after installing the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.21.0.72 update.
- In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.22.7 update, we announced that some beta testers can attach a caption to documents before sharing them since WhatsApp has introduced a caption bar.
- WhatsApp is working on a list of pending group participants, available in a future update of the iOS beta app.
