  • WhatsApp and Cloudflare are announcing Code Verify, a new extension for WhatsApp Web that allows verifying the integrity of your version of WhatsApp Web so you're sure the code has not been tampered with. This is surely the best news of the week that adds a new layer of security to your experience while using WhatsApp.
  • WhatsApp has released a new update for iOS beta that brings bug fixes for the chat title, and settings to manage reaction notifications to certain beta testers. This may be a sign that message reactions are coming soon.
  • WhatsApp is introducing new restrictions when forwarding messages on WhatsApp beta for Android to limit spam and misinformation. What does it mean? When you want to forward a forwarded message, you cannot choose more than one group at a time:

  • WhatsApp is releasing a new interface for Contact Info to certain beta testers. Some people that use stable releases from the App Store may be included in this test.
  • About features under development, WhatsApp is working on a blur tool for the drawing editor to add in a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android.
  • WhatsApp is also developing end-to-end indicators for the chats list section, available in a future update of WhatsApp beta for iOS.
  • Lastly, WhatsApp is developing a feature for a future update that allows keeping certain disappearing messages after their expiration from the chat.
