CONTROL BAR
WhatsApp is starting to roll out new features on iOS beta: after rolling out a new interface on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.22.3 to watch videos from Instagram, YouTube (and more) directly within the app, WhatsApp is now releasing the same interface on WhatsApp beta for iOS as well!
The new interface implements a control bar: it allows moving the picture-in-picture view easily, and it also implements some shortcuts, like the possibility to end the video and to show it in full-screen mode.
This new interface is available for some iOS beta testers today (but other beta testers may have received the feature some days ago), and more activations will be following in the next beta updates.
In addition, some iOS beta testers might notice a small change after playing a YouTube video within WhatsApp: WhatsApp immediately shows it in full-screen mode. Even this small feature has been rolled out for specific beta testers.
