NEW BUSINESS TERMS

Thanks to a recent update of WhatsApp Business beta for Android, we have discovered that WhatsApp plans to update the business terms. The updated version of their business terms does not change the current business experience while using WhatsApp, but it is needed to comply with several regulations around the world. In fact, the new terms have already been applied to users who joined WhatsApp Business after September 27, 2021, but WhatsApp is now planning to provide appropriate notice to people that previously installed the business app by presenting an in-app banner:

As you can see in this screenshot, a new banner will show up in a future update of WhatsApp Business beta: it will inform users that WhatsApp is updating the business terms of the app. Thanks to the updated version of the business terms, WhatsApp finally complies with regulatory requirements in the European Union and around the world: in particular, the company complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as related to the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for data transfers, the Europe Electronic Communication Code (EECC), and the European Union ePrivacy and Platform-to-Business regulations.
In addition, WhatsApp is also providing clarity to all businesses around the world about how the company processes their data and how businesses may work with cloud providers to offer a better service to their customers.

Note that, since these updated terms are about businesses, they do not apply to the consumer app (WhatsApp Messenger), so no changes are planned for standard WhatsApp accounts. Instead, WhatsApp will offer an updated version of their business terms to businesses in order to comply with recent regulations in a future update of the app.
