WhatsApp is rolling out a redesigned gallery view
After releasing quick reply notifications to let people reply even when the app is minimized, WhatsApp is also introducing a redesigned gallery view in the same beta update released on the Microsoft Store last week.

REDESIGNED GALLERY VIEW
WhatsApp is introducing a lot of features to the Windows native app. After adding the support for replying to messages even when the app is closed in the WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2227.2.0 update, WhatsApp is also redesigning the gallery view when opening media in the same update:
As you can see in this screenshot, the redesigned gallery view is very similar to the one implemented on WhatsApp Desktop (the Electron version of the app) and it is very stable to use. In addition, some beta testers are also confirming important improvements in terms of performance, and recently used stickers are finally synced between the phone and the desktop app.
Thanks to all the additions that have been introduced in the past updates of the app, we can understand that WhatsApp is really considering making this app better than WhatsApp Desktop: it is true that WhatsApp still needs to implement several features, but it is the right way to convince more people to switch to the native app.
