CHANNEL UPDATE REPLY
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.8.10.74 update, we announced a new feature in development to track channel update views. This feature was designed to provide channel owners and followers with valuable insights into the reach and engagement of specific channel updates, with the number of views serving as a metric for measuring the effectiveness of each update. It appears that WhatsApp is committed to further enhancing the channel experience by introducing new features for channel owners to improve communication with their followers. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.8.10.76 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature for channel owners to reply to their updates!
As you can see in the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is currently in the process of testing a feature to allow channel owners to reply to their updates, set for release in a future update of the app. Currently, the ability to reply to channel updates is not available for channel owners, making it complicated to quote specific updates shared in the past. With this feature, channel owners will finally gain the capability to reply to their channel updates, enhancing both communication and engagement with their followers.
In our opinion, the ability for channel owners to reply to their updates will offer significant advantages in terms of organization. Currently, without the ability to reply to channel updates, it can be complicated for channel owners to track and respond to specific updates. However, with this new feature, channel owners will easily be able to better maintain continuity and context within the channel. We believe that this enhancement will also facilitate easier navigation for channel followers. They won't need to scroll through a long list of updates in the channel to find related ones, as replies will directly link to the relevant content.
A feature for channel owners to reply to their updates is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. As always, we will continue to provide updates on any further developments regarding this feature until it is officially released.
