COMMUNITIES TAB

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.9.0.76 update, we announced that WhatsApp was working on community tabs within the chat list. This feature would have allowed users to organize and navigate through their groups by displaying all their communities in a new toolbar at the top of the chat list on both iPhone and iPad. Although this organization was discarded in favor of the chat filters feature, WhatsApp remains committed to introducing a feature to manage communities on iPad. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.13.10.74 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out a communities tab on iPad!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is finally introducing the communities tab on the iPad app. This feature was previously unavailable on iPad, as it is considered a linked device and has some limitations. Users could explore communities within the chats list, but the experience was a bit inconvenient as they had to manually find all communities among other conversations. However, with the latest update, WhatsApp is addressing this limitation and enhancing the user experience by allowing iPad users to better manage and navigate their communities directly from the app through a dedicated tab.

With the introduction of the communities tab, users on iPad can also create and manage communities directly from the app. Previously, the creation of communities was limited to main devices, which restricted people with an iPad from fully using this feature. Thanks to the latest updates of WhatsApp beta on TestFlight, iPad users now have the same capabilities as main device users, allowing them to create, manage, and view a comprehensive list of all the communities they have joined in the past, making it easier for them to navigate and interact with their group chats.

It's worth noting that WhatsApp for iPad is currently in a beta version that can be accessed through TestFlight. As of now, there is no information available regarding its release on the App Store. In addition, the beta program for WhatsApp beta on TestFlight is currently full, so new testers are unable to join it. It's important for users to be cautious of people attempting to sell access to certain WhatsApp beta versions for iPhone and iPad on TestFlight for a fee, as this is typically an ongoing scam. Instead, users should wait for the official release on the App Store or for availability in the beta program. For updates on when the beta program is open again or for news regarding the official release, users can follow our WhatsApp channel where we will share timely information as soon as it becomes available.

A feature to bring a communities tab to iPad is available to some beta testers who install the latest version of WhatsApp beta from the TestFlight app, and it's rolling out to more people over the coming days.
