DISAPPEARING MESSAGES

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.25.11 update, we shared information about a new feature released to some beta testers on WhatsApp beta for Android: a shortcut to disappearing messages. Thanks to this shortcut, you can easily configure disappearing threads for your new and old chats.
Today, after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.1.0.74 update from the TestFlight app, we can confirm that this shortcut has been released to some beta testers:

As you can see in this screenshot, the new entry point is available in the Manage Storage section and it is marked as a tool to save space. In fact, one of the purposes of using disappearing messages is to automatically delete media after a certain amount of time you choose within disappearing messages settings. This shortcut is useful as you do not need to go through privacy settings to configure disappearing messages if you’re currently managing your storage.

The additional entry point to disappearing messages has been released to some beta testers under the “tools to save space” view within the Manage Storage section, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
