WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.8.0.74: what's new?
WhatsApp has just submitted a new update through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 22.8.0.74. The version marked within WhatsApp Settings is 2.22.8.74.
What's new in this update? WhatsApp is working on a new security page for end-to-end encryption, available in a future update.

One of the recent news on this website was a new feature under development that we defined indicators for end-to-end encryption. This feature adds a new label at the bottom of your status updates, call history, and chats list claiming that they are end-to-end encrypted so nobody, not even WhatsApp, can read or listen to them. It is also under development on WhatsApp beta for Android and WhatsApp Desktop beta.
What happens when the user interacts with those labels? The feature is still under development but we can explain you what shows up:
As you can see in this attached screenshot, a new security page shows up that gives some information about end-to-end encryption. The new page informs the user that text and voice messages, audio and video calls (including group calls), media, location sharing, and status updates are secured by end-to-end encryption, so your conversations are always private. Further information about how WhatsApp secures your messages and calls is available on their official on security page.
This new section of the app is under development and it will be available at a later date.
