STICKER CRASH
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.23.0.70 update, we announced a new feature available for some lucky beta testers: profile photos of group participants show up within group chats. Thanks to this feature, it will be easier to recognize users with the same name or the ones that are not saved within your address book. Unfortunately, after installing this update, a lot of users were also experiencing an issue when sending stickers:
As you can see in this screenshot, some users complained on Twitter about a crash when sending a sticker. The crash was random so we couldn't understand the reason why it happened. Fortunately, WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.23.0.74 update is now available on the TestFlight app: no new features were found in this beta version (but some users may receive some features released in the previous updates such as profile photos within groups, avatars, and the ability to forward media with a caption) but we can finally confirm that this update successfully addresses the crash.
The fix is finally rolling out after installing the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.23.0.74 update so be sure to install this version from TestFlight if you were experiencing that issue.
