WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.18.0.70: what's new?
WhatsApp has just submitted a new update through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 22.18.0.70. The version marked within WhatsApp Settings is 2.22.18.70 and the TestFlight build is 22.18.0 (391750926).
What's new in this update? WhatsApp is rolling out the ability to view status updates within the chat list!

STATUS UPDATES – CHAT LIST
Yesterday, we posted news about a new feature available to some beta testers on WhatsApp beta for Android: the ability to view status updates within the chat list. The feature was also under development on iOS and it has been announced in the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.10.0.72 changelog some time ago, but there is finally official news on the latest iOS beta build today:
As you can see in this screenshot, when your contacts post a new status update, it is now always visible right within the chat list now.
As we explained in the article about WhatsApp beta for Android, if you don't like this feature you can mute status updates from the status tab so they won't show up within your chat list anymore.
Let's suppose the feature is not available for your account. In that case, there is nothing to be worried about because there isn't something wrong with your WhatsApp installation: since the feature has only been rolled out to some lucky beta testers, it may take time before reaching all other accounts. If you don't have the feature, please wait for a future update because more activations will be following over the coming weeks.
This feature has been released to some beta testers today so be sure to update to the latest beta available on TestFlight!
