Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.7.7 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature to organize message replies into threaded conversations!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a feature that will allow users to follow replies to a specific message in a more organized and cohesive thread. This feature is expected to be released in a future update for individual conversations, group chats, communities, and channels. However, the ability to reply to messages in channels is still under development, as mentioned in the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.8.10.76 update. This new feature will group all related replies directly under the original message, making it significantly easier to track ongoing conversations and discussions without the confusion of disjointed replies scattered throughout the chat.

Once a user replies to a quoted message, the thread will remain connected to the original message, ensuring that all responses stay organized. Through this feature, instead of scrolling through a long list of individual replies, users will be able to follow and view all the related responses in a dedicated thread, keeping the conversation structured and easy to follow. In group chats, where discussions can quickly become overwhelming, this organization will save users from the effort of scrolling through the entire chat history to find one specific response, as they can easily navigate through threads and focus on relevant conversations without losing context.

The threaded replies feature will also play an important role in eliminating confusion, particularly in busy group chats where multiple people might be replying to the same message. Instead of trying to locate the original message that a reply refers to, users can simply tap on a specific thread and view all responses within that chain. In addition to improving the overall organization of chats, the feature will help prevent messages from getting lost in the shuffle when many replies are happening at once. By grouping replies into threads, WhatsApp will create a logical and intuitive structure that will be particularly beneficial in large group chats or community-based conversations where discussions can quickly spiral into a chaotic flow of messages.
