Admin activity notifications provide updates on the actions of co-admins, such as posting content or reacting to posts, helping owners monitor collaboration and workflow. The system also adapts notifications based on channel size to reduce overload, and admins have the option to disable alerts at any time, ensuring full control over their notification experience.

In addition to this smart notification system, WhatsApp is developing further tools to help admins engage more directly with their followers within channels. These upcoming features aim to enhance interaction and make it easier for admins to stay actively involved in their community. Following the release of the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.37.6 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature that lets channel admins create and show a profile!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a feature that allows channel admins to display a dedicated profile for their updates, scheduled for release in the future. A new option called "Show admin profile" will appear in the channel settings screen as a toggle that admins can enable or disable. When the toggle is turned on, the admin's name and profile picture will appear alongside the updates they share in the channel, providing followers with a clear point of reference for the source of each post. This will let admins present a consistent identity within the channel, as followers will be able to recognize who is posting and how frequently updates are shared.

This feature is designed with privacy in mind, as the information displayed does not come from the admin's personal WhatsApp account profile. Instead, each admin can create a distinct profile specifically for their role in that channel, selecting a display name and profile image independently of their main account. This ensures that private account details remain confidential, while still allowing followers to identify the person behind updates. This will also allow admins to maintain a professional or personalized presence within the channel without revealing any information from their personal WhatsApp account.

Admins have the freedom to craft their channel profile however they choose, and this profile can be different across multiple channels they manage. This means that they are not restricted to using the same identity in every channel. By default, the "Show admin profile" option is turned off, so no profile information will be visible until an admin actively enables it, protecting anonymity until the admin decides otherwise. Admins will also have the option to disable the profile at any time, giving them full control over when and how the information they decided to share is displayed.

Each admin can maintain a personal profile tailored to the audience of that specific channel, giving them the ability to present themselves in a professional, casual, or creative way depending on the channel's theme or content style. This separation between the channel admin profile and the personal account profile provides flexibility for those users who manage multiple channels, avoiding any overlap that could reveal personal details unintentionally. The feature will also let admins update or change their channel profile independently at any time, offering ongoing control over what information is displayed to followers.

When enabled, the channel profile will appear consistently on posts, giving followers a sense of continuity and trust by showing who is posting content, while still maintaining the admin's privacy regarding their personal account. Even after enabling this option, the admin's phone number will remain hidden and will not be visible to followers under any circumstances. This ensures that the channel profile provides identification for posts without compromising personal contact information. Admins will be able to see a live preview of their channel profile within the admin profile creation screen, making it easy to adjust the display name or profile picture before making it visible to the public.

This system also makes it easy for channels with multiple admins to show who is posting each update, giving followers a clear sense of which team member is contributing. Each admin can create a unique profile for the channel, complete with a display name and profile picture. Followers can quickly distinguish between posts from different admins, which helps make interactions more transparent. Admins can tailor their profiles to match the style or tone of the channel, providing consistency for the audience. By offering this level of personalization, WhatsApp will make it simpler for both admins and followers to understand who is responsible for each update and follow interactions more effectively within the channel.

The feature will be particularly useful for channels that involve collaborative posting or content creation, as it highlights the individual contributions of each admin while keeping control centralized. Admins will also benefit from the flexibility to experiment with different names or images for their profiles, tailoring their presence to specific campaigns, events, or topics within the channel. These channel-specific profiles will not carry over to other channels unless the admin chooses to replicate them, which keeps identity management simple and contextually relevant.

The system is designed to respect privacy at all times, ensuring that followers only see what the admin chooses to share. With this feature, WhatsApp is providing a practical way for admins to interact with their audience more personally, while keeping personal account information fully separate. As a result, channel admins will have a clearer sense of engagement and can connect with their followers in a more visible and private way.
