STICKER SUGGESTIONS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.14.16 update, we announced that WhatsApp was rolling out a sticker suggestion feature. It allowed users to easily find and send stickers associated with specific emojis by displaying a new sticker tray above the keyboard whenever an emoji is entered in the chat bar. However, due to possible negative feedback, WhatsApp decided to temporarily remove this feature shortly after its initial release. Despite this setback, there are indications that the feature might be reintroduced in a future update. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.13.9 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature to manage sticker suggestions!
As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring a feature to allow users to manage sticker suggestions, scheduled for release in a future update of the app. When enabling the toggle for sticker suggestions, users will have the convenience of quickly finding and sending stickers associated with the emojis they enter into the chat bar, with a new sticker tray appearing above the keyboard as when they type a message. Conversely, disabling the toggle will revert the chat interface to its previous state, eliminating the automatic sticker suggestions from appearing altogether.
The feature to suggest stickers enhances user engagement and personalization, allowing users to express themselves efficiently without the need of opening the sticker keyboard. Some users relied on this feature before it was temporarily removed, finding it a convenient way to quickly share stickers in conversations. By restoring this functionality, WhatsApp aims to enhance the automatic sticker selection process for those users. In addition, disabling the toggle will revert the chat interface to its previous state, without the automatic sticker suggestions, giving users a more traditional messaging experience. We believe this will be particularly beneficial for those who prefer a minimalist interface or find the sticker suggestions distracting.
