CHANNEL ANALYTICS FEATURE
Last week, we initially reported that WhatsApp is currently working on a new feature for the web client to allow channel owners to see analytics for their channels. This feature is designed to provide channel owners with detailed insights into their audience and content performance, enhancing their ability to understand viewer engagement and preferences in the future. Although this feature is still under development on WhatsApp Web, it seems that WhatsApp is now in the process of bringing the same channel analytics feature to the Android app as well, as discovered in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.12.18 update from the Google Play Store.

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a new insights section right within the channel info screen, set for release in a future update of the app. Through this section, channel owners will be able to access various analytics metrics, aimed at providing a comprehensive understanding of their channel's performance. These metrics will include the number of unique viewers who have seen any of the channel updates at least once, the countries with the highest concentration of reached accounts, and the net change in followers over the last 30 days.
In our opinion, this new insights feature will significantly enhance the ability of channel owners to fine-tune their content strategies. By having direct access to detailed performance data, channel owners can make informed decisions about what type of content resonates most with their audience. This advantage will likely lead to increased engagement and follower retention, as content can be more accurately tailored to meet the preferences and interests of the target demographic. By offering data such as the number of unique viewers, geographic distribution of their audience, and net follower growth over the past 30 days, we believe that channel owners will be able optimize their content strategies to better cater to their audience's interests.
A new channel analytics feature is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We will share another article once we have new information about this feature.
