SHARE MUSIC AUDIO
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.25.10.72 update, we announced a new feature in development: the ability to share music audio during a video call while the screen-sharing option is active. This enhancement will mark a significant step forward in enriching the user experience, allowing users to share not only visual content but also audio, creating a more interactive communication environment. While it is still in development on WhatsApp beta for iOS, we discovered that WhatsApp is also working on this feature for a future update of the Android app!

Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.26.18 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp has plans to release a feature that enables all participants in a video call to collectively listen to video and music audio when someone shares their screen, as shown in the attached screenshot. In fact, any audio played on a device with the screen sharing option enabled will be shared with others in the call. As mentioned in the article about WhatsApp beta for iOS, this feature is not applicable to voice calls or video calls where video is disabled.
We believe that introducing a feature to share device audio during a video call with the screen-sharing option active, offers several advantages. Specifically, this feature facilitates multimedia collaboration by enabling users to collectively listen to video and music audio together during a video call. It will open up new possibilities for collaboration, such as discussing and enjoying multimedia content together in real-time. In our opinion, this feature demonstrates WhatsApp's commitment to innovation and improving the overall user experience by adding a new layer of innovation to video calls, setting WhatsApp apart in the competitive landscape of messaging and communication apps.
A feature to share music audio during a video call is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. As always, we are going to share an additional article when we have new details about this feature.
