BLOCK SHORTCUTS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.2.4 update, we posted news about a new feature under development: the ability to block contacts from the chat list. Thanks to this feature, WhatsApp is providing an alternate way to block contacts. An additional entry point has also been discovered during the development of the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.2.5 build and there is finally news after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.2.10 update from the Play Store today:

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is releasing two new entry points to block users. The first entry point is available in the chat list by opening the chat options (in some cases, it may also be available within the app header) so you can easily block a contact without opening the chat. The second shortcut is available within notifications and it appears in some specific situations when receiving a message from unknown contacts.
Thanks to these two entry points, it is easier to block contacts without opening their chat info, especially if you get many messages from people you don’t know or don’t want to talk to. Note that, as we mentioned in our previous article, a feature that allows users to quickly block multiple contacts at once from the chat list is not planned for the future, at the moment.
The ability to block contacts from the chat list and notifications is available for some beta testers that install the latest update from the Google Play Store, and it's rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
