We are already used to updates that address some issues introduced in a previous version. In this case, WhatsApp is fixing an issue from the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.8 update that wrongly placed the start new chat button in your chats list:
In the latest beta update, WhatsApp has finally fixed the issue. Note that there may have been fixed other issues about that floating button in other sections of the app.
