WhatsApp has recently submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.20.8.
What’s new in this update? Discover all details below!
- The new Dark Theme feature is not available yet.
- WhatsApp is working on this feature in the recent few updates, in order to ensure the best bug-free experience for you. WhatsApp is continuing to add new features for the Dark Theme before the release..
For this reason it’s normal if you don’t see this features in WhatsApp, seen that it is under development.
- If you don’t see the update on the Play Store, please be patient until Google will roll out for you (probably in according to WhatsApp preferences).
WhatsApp is continuing to work on the Dark Theme, improving the last details before the release.
After moving the Dark Theme option in a different section in the 2.19.366 beta update (changes not available publicly), WhatsApp has improved the layout of the System Event bubble, that announces your messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted (under development and publicly available in a future update):
The new layout uses a yellow color for the text, that’s different from the one that we saw in the 2.19.311 update.
WhatsApp has also updated the text color for the bubble that announces when you are chatting with a business:
Unfortunately it’s not known a release date for the Dark Theme, but we are constantly working to see when it’s released and we will inform you when available!
