NEW MESSAGE REACTIONS

Last week, we announced that WhatsApp was releasing a new version of message reactions to some beta testers, that lets them react to messages with any emoji and skin tone. Even if the rollout was enough wide, we did not expect that the feature would have reached non-beta users so soon. In fact, Mark Zuckerberg just published a new post on Facebook where he announces the availability of the feature to everyone!

As we explained in our previous article, if you want to verify if the ability to react to messages with any emoji and skin tone is already available for your account, you need to test it by reacting to a message: if you see a new plus icon placed within the reaction tray, it means the feature is really available for your account!
The keyboard is invoked when you try to react to messages with a different emoji on WhatsApp beta for Android. On WhatsApp beta for iOS, there is a draggable section where you can easily pick and search for any emoji.
Note that, even if the screenshot is taken from WhatsApp for Android and iOS, the feature is also released on WhatsApp Web/Desktop to everyone.
If the feature is not available for your WhatsApp account, do not worry: it is true that Mark Zuckerberg just announced the release of the feature to everyone, but some time may still be needed before rolling out the feature to all WhatsApp accounts, but it will surely happen very soon.
