Recently, WhatsApp has released a new update on the AppStore, bringing the version number up to 2.17.60, and you can read the changelog tapping here, to discover all changes in this update, that’s compatible with iOS 11.
As you can read in the changelog, this update has many improvements and new features, but there is something else about stickers, that are very hidden ..
WhatsApp is working since some months to implement stickers in WhatsApp for iOS, and today we are finally able to show you that they made a lot of progress to do that.
In fact, trying to send some stickers in WhatsApp (picking them thanks to the Sticker button in the chat input bar), they will look so:
Just like Facebook Messenger, when the user sends a sticker, it appears without the bubble, but the time and the read receipts are visible under it.
We remind you that WhatsApp will support these Facebook Sticker Packs:
They can easily add other stickers later.
It’s not clear yet when they are going to enable this feature for all users, but seen that the feature is missing on WhatsApp for Android, Windows Phone and Web/Desktop versions, we should continue to wait.
Note that this feature is disabled by default: it means that you cannot send stickers actually, because this feature will be visible in next releases.
