PRIVACY REMINDER

Last month, we shared a concept for a new privacy option called Only Share With, which would allow users to create a whitelist of contacts who can see their information on WhatsApp. This is currently only a concept and not a real feature on WhatsApp. In case the first idea is not accepted, we have decided to create an alternate concept and share it with the community in order to gather feedback. We hope that this will help bring the feature to the platform in the future:

As shown in the screenshot, a privacy banner appears in a conversation with a new contact, reminding users to review their privacy settings if they wish to exclude the new contact from seeing certain information on WhatsApp, in case they use “My contacts except” as the privacy option. In our opinion, this reminder is very useful, as many people forget to update their privacy settings after adding a new contact to their address book.

Please note that the feature described in this concept is not currently available on WhatsApp. While this is simply a concept at this time, we hope that it will be considered for implementation in a future update of the app. We believe that this feature would greatly help the user have more control over their privacy settings as they often forget to update them. If we receive any updates or information about the possibility of this feature being implemented, we will be sure to share it with you through additional articles on our website. We hope that you enjoyed learning about our concept and appreciate your feedback.
